Default Instrument panel dead! ??

Hey guys i have a bit of an issue, My uncle has a car lot that i work at whenever he needs my help and my latest job is reparing a recovered 02 yukon that had been stolen/stripped from a customer and he had bought back from the insurance.

i have put the motor back together along with the wiring harness and fixed the wires under the column but it will fire and die which i have not messed with the VATS yet still waiting on some parts but even with all that done shouldnt the instrument pannel work?

The blinkers work and the check engine light stayes on constatnly even when the key is not in the ignition, but the fuel guage, battery voltage, oilpsi, temp
, rpm and the digital readout of PRND321 is not working at all. if it was the cluster i would think some of it would work. Will this not work being an issure with the vats still? or maybe a main fuse/relay that controlles that i've overlook.. i checked all the fuses and replaced what i could find.

I have ran down all the wires that i can and everything looks to be ok behind there.. i think the cluster is a junk yard cluster my uncle bought also.

Any information will be helpful im going to be heading back there this weekend so maybe i can get a few tips before i head back.

Thanks
Ray

Do you have a scan tool? Sounds like a vatts issue for why it wont run... The cluster could be bad or you could have a crossed up wire somewere. Since the security light is on I would start with the Vatts first. Hook up a scan tool and see if there is any code's pressent. right them down first, then clear them. See if the car will start again and then see if any of the codes came back.

is it the stock PCM or did you change it too? If you changed the PCM you will need to reflash it with the correct vin for the BCM to crosscheck.
Agree also on VATS

Even after a reflash with a different ECU they dont always mesh... I had a truck that had to have the electronic part of the key cylinder changed and a new BCM. $700 later It was fixed...
