I go straight to the customer page to buy credits, always works right there.
The internet thing is only because of the added encryption on the 2017+ computers. Once you read the file and license it you never need to be connected to the internet again.
Probably around 10-12 months ago (maybe longer) when HPT put out 4.9 or 4.10 software version they removed emission related things like post o2 sensor test and cat test on GM stuff, as well as other stuff on other models. Obviously this is to not get shut down by the EPA. Now that 5.0+ software is out they greyed out other parts of the calibration and DTC's but you can gain them back by taking the training course in the editor. Clearly they have their reasons and it's a pain in the *** but you can still get around all of it. You can operate more than one version of the software on a computer, many people do that. I'm still running 4.6 or an early 4.8 version and I still have all of the stuff there to edit.
I see no way of them ever knowing what you do with the file after it's been licensed. They have no way to get into your computer and the files you created aren't uploaded anywhere because an internet connection is never required.

Yeah I was going to say that as well.
I believe I am still on software 4.6 and someone on LS1Tech has almost every version that you can get from them to run.

-Go to your account on HPTuners website and check your devices for the credits. You may have to add them, I feel like I did that before.
