Default HpTuners or wait4 me

I have never done any computer tuning on a vehicle, other than my hypertech, but I was just wondering If I should go with a wait4me tune(157.70) or go for the big guns and get Hptuners(500.00). Do I have to have a laptop for Hptuners or can I use my home pc? How easy is Hptuners to use?

Another option would be to get the EFI live flashscan from Wait4me. He will include a base tune with the software and you can log and get it updated via file exchanges. You wont have to buy a new PCM and then you can tweak from there. Just my thoughts.

having Hptuners or any tuning progaram is a great learning experience, giving you the opportunity to understand whats going on underneath your hood. I would recommend reading lots of write ups on tuning before you jump in and try to do it yourself, otherwise you wont know where to begin. A laptop is a must, if you have no other need for one, you can always buy a cheap used one for the purpose of tuning.
