Is HPTuners locked to the PCM or the VIN?? I have an extra PCM for my truck that I got through Wait4Me and I had it in win I licensed the truck to tune in. I'd like to put the stock one back in just for the sake of having the stock one. I want to get rid of the other PCM as I just dont need it. Anybody know for sure on this??

 

You can use 2 credits to liscense it for your truck (OS) or you can use 6 credits for the trucks to be able to tune an unlimted amount of that year model.So if you used 2 credits on the wat4me for example,then you will have to use 2 more to even read the stock PCM or just get 5 more inorder to support an unlimted amount of that year for the trucks

 

You can read and scan the unlicensed PCM, but can't write to it with out using 2 more credits. HPT lock to the PCM you license it to when your just using single PCM licensing, how ever, you do get credit toward unlimited license's for every single license for that year and model you buy.
