Hi all. I'm tracking down an issue with my 4l80e swap in my 02 Yukon. I need to test gear changes on stands.

FYI, I'm stuck in 2nd with reverse available. No codes, segment swap, repin, all trans dtc enabled on first MIL.

Does this A4 gear select actually work in hptuners?

I'm commanding 3rd here. Still in 2nd per calculated ratio. I'm fairly sure its my trans and not the software not working. I read somewhere this feature doesn't work for all vehicles.

 

Did you check to see if your TCC solenoid or TCC PWM controls work? After I did my segment swap my TCC controls stopped working. I didn't ever check to see if my A4 gear select works though. Also, did you change your setting from 4l60e to 4l80e in the drop down menu?

 

I haven't touched the tcc stuff yet. I want the damn trans to shift first. Lol!

I did the drop down to 4l80e.

typically 2nd gear and reverse is its not seeing the 2nd vss input

 

Here are the base hpt, source hpt for the 4l80 segments and the swapped hpt.

READ_2_....hpt is the one on the truck now. I track my changes in the filename.

 

Maybe double check your wiring. Maybe you got the two wires to the front vss crossed. I'm sure it's gotta be something simple.

 

Mine work fine...if you have the scanner running and the key turned on but engine off, you can hear the solenoids click when you enable gears.

 

In the screenshot you can see the 2 vss values. They seem to be sane values.

I'm hoping it's simple. thank god I have another car to drive.

 

I tried that. I can hear clicking. Sometimes more buzzing.

These are all new solenoids.

I've got a bald spot from scratching my head so much. And a swollen liver.

 

Can someone verify my segment swap?
