I think I'm gonna get Hptuners since the mail orderthing needs to be tweaked on, and I'm a diyer. How difficult is hptuners to use? My truck has a '02PCM, 6.0 swap with a stall and cam. I guess I can get it right. Any input is appreciated. Thanks

i read everything i could find on the net. since you will not have your stock tune to compare to, you can go to horist's .bin site and download a few. the new compare feature on 2.0 is awesome for comparing tunes and seeing what is different. also only make small changes on one thing at a time at first.

actually do this religiously. Keep a notebook with notes of each tune. It will not only help you, but it will actually make you a little samrter because of the error factor. You will know the direct result of each change.

HPT 2.0 also has the roll over explanation/help file. Man thank makes a world of a difference in help. DO IT! To fun, especially for Diyer's!!!

you would need '02. new for version 2.0 there is a history log that captures every change and where you make it in a bin.

look at that!!! learn something new everyday...your personal notes are still good IMO. Cool as hell though. See...get it!

You definitely need the year that the PCM is; as ZDEN has already pointed out.

Another vote for geting it. It maybe be tough at first but worth it in the end. And like everyone has pointed out the 2.0 is MUCH MUCH MUCH more user friendly, and of course this site as well as others will help you out.

Here is another point. Tag team the purchase with a friend, find someone that can share it with you, different year other than yours. This will give you more vehicles to learn on, as two heads are better than one sometimes. Will give you as much help as I can, but still learning myself. Learn something new each time I make some changes. Using a note pad was a good idea, I use a 3 ring binder to keep info as I find it on the web, for future changes.
