Default HPT: what do I license for when running a 2005 bin to control electric fans?

I searched, but couldn't quite find what I was looking for...

I have a 2003 Silverado SS that I will be adding electric fans to. The 2005 Silverado SS's came with electric fans and I know some of the truck guys have done this by connecting the trigger wire to pin 42 (if I remember right), another trigger wire to the AC compressor, and connecting a few relays. I have the hardware part figured out, but I don't know what I need as far as a tune...

Do I need to license my HPT for my 2003 VIN and import a 2005 BIN file, or do I have to switch to an entire 2005 VIN and BIN both??? I just want to make sure I don't waste my credits and license the wrong one.

Well, I have a 2000 truck with PCM controlled e-fans. I don't think it has anything to do with what year you have, as all our trucks have the necessary software to run e-fans. You are correct on needing to connect it to the PCM and AC, but the rest is just tuning.

I assume you have already read your file and saved. Under System you will see a Fans menu. Click on it and enter in your desired turn on and turn off temps. Since your fans are connected to the PCM via pin 42 or whatever, when the parameters are met they will turn on. Same with the AC. When power is applied to the green wire one or both will come on depending on how you wired them.

Oh yeah, under Fan Type, make sure they are Aux Fans.
