Default HPT vs EFILive vs LS1 Edit

I'm looking to buy tuning software in the fairly near futue and really cant tell which one would be best for what I need... I have searched and cant really find what I'm looking for. I know HPT is really popular but is one easier to use or more in depth? I'm really looking for some first hand accounts from people who have used all this software before. I'm seriously tired of mail order BS and there's not any good tuners around here until you drive 4+ hours... looks like its time for me to start doing my own tuning soon

you know this is gonna turn ugly. HPT vs EFI is really narrowed down to one thing IMO...which do you think will support you with a good help base. As far as product inlcusion and which has what and which doesn't...it almost doesn't matter. They will keep competing making each other better and better each year. They're both bad *** tuning suites. HPT just got a jump on customer base, that's why they have such a large gathering, not that they don't deserve it by any means...I love hpt vs efi. But I don't use EFI either, if I did, I'd love it I bet. Seriously...my decision today would be made by who is gonna help me. Do they have efi or hpt. LOL

Yeah, I figured it'd get messy but I needed to know... LOL.... I'm no brain surgeon but I'm not a 100% complete idiot either, I'm sure I could figure out how to use either, I guess I was just mainly concerned about which one has the steepest learning curve...

the learning curve IMO is your motor/mechanics knowledge. My knowledge of motors is little, so my learning curve was steep just on "what to do" besides just operating the software.

I will say, I notice that efi guys like to reference tables by table numbers whereas hpt users reference the table name. That's a sign of smart pants IMO, remembering part/table numbers vs. the name. LOL EFI=smart pants. LOL yeah, go ahead and post dc_justin...you're a smarty pants and you know it. You too Whippled 496. and everyone of those guys at Greenlight motors sports....smarty pants!

As far as looking stuff up... you don't have to do that at all with EFI. The table numbers are just a quick way to jump to a table, especially if it's something you're not familiar with and you're learning about it from someone else. Just type in a short code and you jump to it. Or you can navigate and find it just the same. Example, High Octane Spark table. Can expand "Engine Calibrations" then "Spark" then "General" and find it there, or if you have the number, type B5913 in the search box and jump right to it.

thats makes sense... so its just kind of like a "shortcut" method if you so choose to use it... I see...

Can anyone post up screen shots of their partucular tuning suite?? the visual layout play heavily in my choice. I like to have everything fairly simple and easy to read in front of me.
