Hey guys, I was looking at getting the hp tuner. I already have a nelson tune and get updates thru them of course. I heard that the tunes he sends out are locked. If they are locked, what can I do with the tuner. Can I look at everything on the pcm? Can I change anything on it? Can I do the relearns? Just trying to figure out if its worth getting. You need to tell him you are getting HPT and he'll unlock it for you for a fee I believe. Pretty common practice these days tuners. Not all of them, but most.

 

Ya you will need to have it unlocked, you can scan but will not be able to see or edit anything in the tune unless Allen unlocks it for you. Get ahold of him and talk to him about your plans.
