I don't know its pretty consistent.

I am in Jackson. I typically get my gas at the Exxon on County Line Road and Ridgewood Road or Shell at I-55 Frontage Road and Beasley Road.

I used to put Sams Club gas in it. Justin from Blackbear mentioned it usually isn't the best, but I didn't show any issues with my logs after getting my tune.

shouldnt be getting any retard. if its not audible (doesnt sound like detonation or rocks in the engine) you could have a bad knock sensor or somthing. ls engines are famous for water getting under the intake and ruining the knock sensors

The job of the knock sensors is to pull timing BEFORE it actually detonates. Some knock retard is OK, HOWEVER it depends on where it is at and how much is there. At part throttle cruise, low RPM, HIGH load I would not be worried about 1-2 degrees. At WO I dont like to have any, another thing you have to make sure you are not seeing is Burst knock. Also another factor is your knock sensor sensitivity as well as the knock decay. All of the above comes into play on how to interpret your scanned knock readings.

I know mine likes to flash up some false knock when my converter unlocks.
Again this is all my opinion, everyone has their own.

Just to be clear, if you actually hear the knock.... That is BAD. Get off the gas and get it straightened out.

Modern 87 octane fuel is complete horse ****. I dont even run the **** in my lawn mower. If you are doing any type of tune I wouldn't run anything less than 89 in order to get a tolerable fuel to work with for tuning and getting timing and fueling tables worked out.

93's the best for a fuel that generally has consistent quality once you run it for a while you adjust to paying for it. You gotta pay to play. If you don't want to pay then leave the stock tune in it and drive it as is.

i never ever heard of an 87 octane tune honestly, no wonder your poor motor is detonating like anything.

Instead of any more guesswork trying to figure this out, fill up with 93 octane for just one time, and log. This will tell you if its false knock or true knock.

I agree, 87 is worthless. Even the 91 around here is crap. I start getting scared if I see any knock at WOT.
