Right, so what you are saying dumanshu is that you can basically log and really download all the settings of the PCM, edit it and reupload it, but you can't edit a tune of an EFI program with HPT (or visa versa) unless you have access to the vehicle, in which case you are really just downloading the settings of the tune. no program to program editing. It has to go program1 --> PCM --> program2

 

yes. The software is just a shuttle for the data. As long as we are talking NON-custom OS'.

 

I know this is starting to get to the dead horse beating stage, but I would still be able to read the settings from say a tuner, or anyone else and change them to my preferences so long as they came from the truck's PCM and not directly fed from the other tuning device. Hey- I'm game...........
