"HIGH 4" headlight wiring?
 

I have a 2002 2500HD that im trying to convert so that the fogs, lows and highs come on when you hit the high beams.

How do you wire it up for this?

I was told by one guy that you can just replace the headlight relay with a different relay (didnt' know the part number for the magic relay) and not do any wiring- any truth to this?

What all is involved with the regular "high 4" wiring and how much extra trouble is it to make the fogs come on in conjunction with the high and low beams?

That's for 03+ models I believe. His 02 will probably have to have the yellow wire grounded.

On an 02. Cut the yellow wire on the low beam, and just chassis ground it.

There is a single yellow wire you can ground, it comes out under the fuse box. I forgot which pin it's in, I tried to find the link but can't.

Use a tap connector on the yellow wire at the driver's side low beam headlight and run it to ground. You're done. Nothing else needed, no fancy diodes, relays, firewall connector jumpers (yes, there are those people...).

Cool. That was easy. Knocked that out while also finishing the install on my Kickers. One thing I noticed about my speaker wiring is that it was backwards from the diagram I have from Alldata. Every wire was exactly backwards. Stereo sounds great now with the components in the front and 3 way speakers in the back. Love it.

Anyway, I just traced the headlight low beam yellow wire back to the fuse box and found a good ground and just used a "vampire" connector and tapped it to the ground. Now the highs come on and lows stay on. Hooray!

Now, how bout those fog lights? How do you keep them on as well? As soon as you click over to high beams, the fog lights terminate. Low beams stay on, but fogs won't. Fogs only illuminate in low beam only.
