I never had to do anything with VATS, it's simply an entire operating system recalibration. It takes around 3 minutes or so to complete, versus 30 seconds or so for simply flashing an updated tune.

If your not changing the injectors. Use the injector settings from the 99 since they are smaller

The 02 has better tables and is not prone to false KR like the 99

Ok so i tried to write this 02 OS into the 99 truck today and it would start and die over and over. So i then copied the tables to the 99 ecm and tried it, it started but only if u kept it running with your foot. Also it would start but with a cloud of pure white smoke. I just put the stock tune back in it an will try another day. I really need help now though, im lost in this after that episode!!!

With HP tuners, don't you need to use an extra credit to do an OS swap?

I would like for anyone to take a look at this and let me know what you think. I think its decent but i believe im getting false knock up to 5* but on the average its like 2*, it may be knock but it doesnt seem like it. I still needs more work on the VE but i didnt have time to finish up today. Timing is only increased by 4* from the stock table. I copied the High octane table to the low and added 4* to the High Octane table, which i dont think could have caused the knock unless i just dont have the VE dialed in close enough. This truck does have some 33" mud tires on it too, which i thought was causing some false knock, along with the roads around here.
