Heater is acting up??????
#1
Hey guys, here lately my heater will be working fine and then all of a sudden will be start blowing cool to cold air. I thought may be the heater core, but I cant find it leaking anywhere. Has anybody experienced this before. My truck is 2005 CC Z-71 LS. It is dual non electronic climate control.

actuator doors are sticking or shot. Resetting the battery will work for a while, but happens to all these trucks. The system should thro codes and having them cleared with a reader works sometimes too. Do search on it and you'll find the fix. I had the dealer work it before warranty ended and they replaced the whole head unit and had no idea (bags of hammers!). Its a bit of a job to fix them. My climate control works right now, but wont blow thru the dash...actually quite the PITA. Its about 4-5hr job to change the doors as have to take whole dash/center console out to fix...

do you think that might be my problem, too?
mine always blows hot (even when set to cold & vent when it's 30* outside), and when it's on the coldest notch of the temp control, i hear this constant clicking somewhere in the dash about every second. goes away when i turn the temp one notch warmer, though...
truck's a 99 NBS, manual HVAC

Probably...have u disconnected the battery recently? Have you checked for codes? Regular use of the truck could free up the doors sometimes, or try disconnecting the battery again for 20mins.
