Default Got a package from Nelson today!

Woohoo, its here!

I teach at a university, and we have an Automotive Technology program here. The program has a new Mustang dyno. I talked them out of some time Friday to play with my Vortec MAX.

We are going to do a base run for HP, TQ, 0-60, 1/8 mile and 1/4 mile times. Then we are going to drop in a K&N rectangle filter in place of stock and do it again. Then we are going to put the Nelson PCM in and do it again. It should be great fun.

I am sure that none of you would be interested in the results, so I will just keep them to myself.

Just kidding! I will post the results after Friday.

I had Nelson tune for 91 octane with 80% TM removed. We will see what a difference this makes.

Wish me luck.

Mike

Does it really take that long to relearn? I had planned on driving it a few miles in stop and go traffic like Nelson's instructions suggest.

Yes it takes a good 100 miles or so to let the fuel trims learn etc.

Well, maybe I will postpone the Nelson run until after I put a tank of gas through it. Or, I could run it tomorrow and again later just to see what the learning process does.

Will I hurt the truck running it at WOT before all the learning takes place?

One other question: Does the old computer "forget" when I remove it from power? Would it need to "relearn" to run properly again? Or, does it remember indefinitely?
