Default fuel regulator

Is there a way you can tell if your fuel regulator is going bad? Also is there anyway to upgrade it if it is bad or just go buy a new one?

Cool

You can check your FPR by pulling the vacuum line at the FPR. Run the truck for a bit then shut it down. Pull the vacuum line and check for the presence of fuel. If it is wet then the FPR is bad and needs to be replaced. Just put a new one in it's place.

I was having hard start issues and running poorly until I drove it and beat on it a bit.

By hard start do you mean it would just keep turning over and over and then it would start and idle funny? for a little bit.
