A few questions about combining 99-02 and 03-06 electronics on my 2001 Sierra SL WT
Okay, so I want to know how to get these things to work. I have access to things like computers and wire harnesses and pretty much everything but large items for almost nothing.
Things I have.....
~03 Silverado SS seats. Just pos/neg hooked up. Have power but NO heated seats nor do the seatbelt locks function.
~03 SLT Door panels with the heated seat switches/window switches
~03 SLT Door wire harness
~03 autotrack transfercase (how can I be sure it's that one?) Currently have floor shifter one.
Things I want
~Heated seats hooked up to the real switches in the door panels
~Power mirrors/windows (I ALREADY HAVE POWER LOCKS)
~Push button transfercase. I have a denali center console I am putting in to replace the stock one.
Things I was thinking of
~Get a 2003+ SLT/LT wire harness. Can I use the stock 01 fuse block under the hood?
~Get a 99-02 SLT/LT wire harness. I can just replace the current one and everything would plug in..HOWEVER my seats are still 03+ and I already have the 2003 panels and switches. Only issue is the wire harness for the transfercase....
I'm just not sure how to best tackle this...can I somehow directly wire in the 03 windows without a BCM? Can I somehow tie into the seat computer and access heated seats? They wouldn't turn off with the key..unless that computer has it's own ignition wire.
I realize this is a big job but I finally got the truck off my father. I'd like to set it up as a 2nd daily driver. I am going through the entire truck, replacing panels and more.

I'll take any help to any of these questions btw even if you can just add a little bit. ANY information would help me on this venture.
Another idea I had was go AWD. I just don't know how well the 4.8 would respond to such things..I am guessing horrible. Have you guys ever seen an AWD 4.8?

Okay I got a full 2003+ SLT wire harness and all the computers. I have the transfercase computer and tons more. I found out I have the nv246 which should work with all 99-06 computer systems. I just need to see if I can combine everything.
As for now I got rid of the stock BCM. I installed something from a 99-02 SLT and after sitting there programming it for half an hour the truck starts. I have the security light, doors lock when its put into gear, and the lights stay on when you take the key out.
So I am making progress. Right now I am trying to condense the 03+ wire harness into only the things I need. I am hoping the BCM will operate without the PCM..I guess we shall see.

Yeah the more I think about all this the more I am going to change a few things.
I have decided to get a full 99-02 SLT wire harness and just use my 03+ ones to get heated seats. The more I think about it the more I realize that the security and keyless entry will NEVER work on both the 99 and 03 computer system at the same time.
The BCM I installed last night appears to retain the RPO codes it was originally programmed with. I should be able to get the new dash harness and that's it...I already have everything else.
