Depends on where you are, and what kind of inspection they give.

In Missouri we just have a visual inspection where they look to see if you have cats. In this case, I have resonators in the place of stock cats, so mine will pass.

If you have a sniffer test, you will need to get cats, this is where they hook up a machine to the tailpipe and read the chemical composition of the exhaust.

In some places they have a ODBII scan as well as a visual, in this case, all you have to do is tune out your rear O2 sensors, and have something that looks like cats.

Yeah I'm in Baytown and they do the obdII and I'm not sure if they sniff where I go. I don't wanna go ask questions and then I fail. So I'm at a cross rd with it.

I've passed the sniff test running E85. I don't *have* to pass a sniff test, just did it for grins.

As far as i know here in texas they just connect the state's computer to your ALDL and run their tests, no visual inspection. if you have a good tune and no MIL then you should be good.
