Hey, can you hold first gear with your 80, i'm trying to figure out why mine shifts into second on it's own even though i have it in first. There is another thread goin on that has this debate on it. Cause on my 60, i did the transgo and i could hold 1st after that, but as i recall i had a W4M tuned installed after that and i told them about the shift kit. But if you 0 out your part throttle shift mph, i don't think that would do anything, and i looked at my old 60 file and not much is different, nothing out of the ordinary was changed.

Actually 1Slowhoe, you are subscribed on that thread. Anyway, let me know.

Yah let me know. I know you have EFI, but i actualy just tried changing my WOT mph in perf mode really high and it still shifts into second on its own. I think it's in the part throttle % table, i'll have to scale that up and see how that does, that's gotta be it though.

I have a shift kit in mine. I put it in 1st and I was able to hold first all the way to 4Krpm and I let out. It would have shifted by then for sure because I was only giving it 20% throttle.

Do you have a transgo in it? Cause i think that's the reason why i can't because i have a Superior Shift kit. Although i've really come to like it cause it's so tame normally but once you romp on it, man it shifts great.

I have the TransGo instructions on how to do the plate if you need it I can post it up , as gmforlife said the valve body is right under the pan and the plate under that , a new plate is only 25 bucks , some 80Es had aluminum plates , and most will switch that out to the steel plate .
