Default ECM upgrade.

I'm putting a 408 in a 1999 RCSB and was wondering and think i read somewhere on here a while ago that the ECM's in these trucks are tuning limited. Is it better to go with the 01 and 02 Gen3 ECM's ?

There would be no problem using a 99 PCM with a 408. You should upgrade the OS to a newer 02 OS though (older ones are knock prone and can't be upgraded to a custom OS)...

Can this be done with a Tech 2?

Not 100% sure, never used one... any good tuning software can do it.
