Easy to tune 60# or bigger injectors?
#11
If your injector data is off, it can be a major pain to tune a vehicle. I run 60lb/hr Siemens shortys. I have used the suggested data that you can find everywhere for them, and my tune was always off. It always ran rich/ or my VE table needed to be extremely low to compensate. It started hard, it all around ran horrible. I decided to pull them and have them flowed and cleaned for $80. The actually flow about 10% higher (like I originally assumed) than what they were supposed to. I ended up also having to set my injector base pulse width in the negative to make it idle and coast properly. It now runs very good all around. Next time I buy injectors, I will get them with a flow sheet or I will not get them at all.

It's NEVER a good idea to deal with unknown injectors with unknown injector data. I have seen it many times where someone says "yeah these injectors worked just fine for me" well that injector with no data or even worse a drilled out injector that they end up taking their airflow tables ( VE/MAF) and making changes to them based on the fueling errors from the injector change, WRONG.
Then of course the question comes up, well why does it matter as long as the fuel trims and or afr error is in line. Trust me it matters!

I bought a set of 96# injectors from Lonnie's Performance. My tuner never asked for injector data. I didn't get anything with the injectors. My tune is kind of like you guys are talking. Starts hard and has sometimes where is has idle issues. Should I have them flowtested?

Yes sir you have a good classic example of why the correct injector data is important. This is where incomplete half crocked data starts to show problems such as poor idle, hard starting and overall drivability issues.
Yes it would be a good idea to have them flow tested but they still is only a small part of the battle won if the offsets, short pulse adder, min. pulsewidth isn't right in the tune for the injectors you are using.

Not to hijack a thread, but since we are talking about them, anybody have ANY info at all on the FAST 65's? I have a set I plan on running, but even FAST says they dont have the specs on thier own injectors?!?! Im just hoping its not going to be an idle nightmare trying to run them. Anyone got anything on this?
