Default E-fan Temp Settings

Calspeed said they set my low fan to come on at 180, and the high at like 190. Does this make sense? I have the stock thermostat, and on the highway it runs at 195, it will never run below 195. There is no point to have the fans come on below 195 because the thermostat won't be open. Is this correct?

I am using LS1 fans with a Nelson harness. Pin 42 activates both low fans, AC activates a single high fan, and I think both pin 42 and AC at the same time will activate both high fans.

Also, I told him I have just the one wire to the PCM to turn on both fans on low, but he has two different fan settings. What am I supposed to do about this? Can I modify the Nelson harness with two wires going to the PCM?

Long story short, my fans will be on 100% of the time. This seems stupid when I'm on the highway.

Truck is in sig. Thanks!

The fans should disable at speed anyway. That trick with the fans on before thermostat opens works to help bring your coolant temps down if you're overheating. Maybe they thought you have a lower temp thermostat?

Factory settings are 225 and 235, or something really close to that.

Yeah, I don't understand turning on at 180 when you have a 195 stat. 200 or 205 would be better.

I have the stock t-stat in my HD which is a 186 F piece. I set mine to come on low at 203 and go off at 195. My truck runs at 194 normal temp for the most part according to EFILive.
