Damn, like a bunch of school childern. Honestly how many of us have used more than opne tuner?????? Only a few Im aware of. Obviously the custom tune is so mutch better, that everyone thinks their tuner is the best. Ive ridden in Nelson tuned vehicles, but only after the tune, He does a good job, cant say anything negative about his ability. I've also ran into problems with the mail order tune from him, but this was after a cam swap. I have a w4m and was very satisfied, and would do it again if for nothing more than the price difference, however when I did my cam swap I had similar issues as the man Im refering to with the Nelson tune. I have also riden in a few trucks with a FMS tune, they are very impressive also. IMO any mail order tune will be a big difference over the hand held. Whose best? Dont know, and wont say anyone is better thatn any other until I see dyno info from an unknown test from all the mail order tuners.

With that being said, I now use HPtuners. If you have a lap top (not a 100% must, but pretty necessary to get stuff right) HPtuners isne mutch more than a mail order tune, and gives you the ability to get things perfect (damn near impossible through the mail) and make changes for free at your convience.

What Beau mentioned was Speed density tuning (disable the MAF) I would seriously advise AGAINST this for a mail order tune. SD tuning is used to get your fuel trims and VE tables right on, with out any logging tools there would abe a good chance of blowing your **** up. SD is suposed to make a hair more power and be more responsive when done correctly though. If you could get to a speed shop that knows what they are doing, your best bet (IMO) would be to take a couple hour drive and get it road tuned. You will make the same gains at WOT and possibly have more power at part throttle.

Before I bought HPtuners, I was going to take a 9 hour drive to get Nelson to tune mine, but that aso was before I knew what I now know about some more local places.

Not IMO, and I just noticed who tune you have. Hmmmmm. Usually everyone with a Nelson tune bashes EVERY other tuner. I have personally seen the gains Futral makes, and have a hard time believing Nelson is mutch, if any better. But have no way of knowing because I havent seen the two different tuners tune teh same truck though.

Well I just ordered a Magnacharger so I guess a tune is not needed. Unless someone can advise differently. I don't want this thing to be a race car or gas pig, only for towing purposes and a daily driver.
