Default Cold Weather=O/D not working

I am not sure if this is being caused by my tune, but when it gets around the freezing mark my tranny takes about 5 minutes of normal driving to get the O/D to engage and lock up. It is very annoying and am very afraid my third will burn out sooner than later. My truck has a rebuilt 4l60e, transgo shift kit, corvette servo's,2600 TBTC and a tune from justin@blackbear. any input would be appreciated. Also why does fuel comsumption drop significantly during the colder winter months. I can watch my fuel guage pretty much go down when just cruising on the highway. I may just be running really rich in my lean cruise. May have to log a bit to see how it looks. Summer time the fuel consumption is just from my right foot being heavy.

It's normal...you're in 4th but the converter doesn't lock up until the engine reaches a certain temp

Yep, as soon as the fluid comes up in temp the TCC will be permitted to lock. You got a big cooler on it?

That is not OD not coming in,it is the TCC lockup. The TCC will not apply until the transmission fluid gets to temp

Everything they said. No biggie really.

Do you have a Cooler. Is it running through your radiator to get warm faster?

If you have a transmission cooler might have to install a bypass for winter use.

thats does make sense. I did put a bigger cooler on it because of the 60e, i just try and let my truck warm up as long as i can in the winter, and just dont beat on it until the fluid temp comes up. Still not sure about the gas consumption though. damn addicting mods. !!!

I leave my truck on for about 7 minutes every morning before going to work and it runs normal luckily I have a remote start.
x2 on the gas mileage I noticed this past week when I took a 500 mile trip my Hwy.mpg's had dropped about 2-3 mpg's I have heard people say it could be because I am running a 160* TSTAT but I really dont know it might just be my heavy *** right foot lol...

If you didn't tune for the 160 stat than it's likely your problem. You will be running rich until the truck reaches 176*F IIRC.

I don't have proof that you have to tune a 160 but it makes perfect sense to me since the PCM does command a richer value up to that point.
