cold morning starts
#1
for the last week in real cold mornings when i start my truck to let it warm up
when i come back out after 10-15 min truck is still idling at 900-1000 fully warm. Doesnt go down till i put in gear then will stay down. only happens in the morning. Anyone have any ideas of what to look for?

Bump for this, and also when starting, I have to hold the gas down for about 10-20 seconds before it will idle on its own. It only happens when it's cold outside. What should we adjust in Hptuners? Thanks.

Mine does that, but it's because I had to raise the idle set screw on the TB. Starts up @ 1000 rpm cold and then drops to 750. For some reason, at the stock screw setting my TB sticks shut.

In EFI there is a Desired Idle Speeds table that is based on ECT. There is also a Heater Warmup RPM Offset that gets the speed up to get the engine warm faster. The Warmup table in mine goes all the way up to 176* and raises the engine speed 250 RPM in Park/Neutral. That is probably the table that is keeping your idle up. If your ECT is up to temp I am not sure if there is anything else causing the idle to hang until you put a load on it.
