They dont spin, let alone light em off! Thats what i dont get!

I do see that in the log now, frame 43, where the input shaft goes to crap (0). That puzzles me. The output shaft only goes out to about 2500rpm or so as well. What in the hell is going on here?

Just to point out, I have healthy line pressure going on during the whole thing, so its not clutch slip

i can't see the tune at work. but do you have your traction control settings all zero'd out? and all your torque settings maxed out? you may not have traction control but those table seem to still apply sometimes. don't know why but they do. have you checked your trans fluid? maybe its low. i know when we did a TC swap in mcfarlnds truck we thought we had it filled up and it would bearly even move. wasn't much low but low enough. whats the timing on the log during this?

when you do take off does it take off hard or just kinda take off?

EDIT: If memory serves, the only way you can get the gear of your choice (373 or 410) is if you get the 8.1 in a 2500. Otherwise with the 6.0 you're stuck with a 410 in the 2500. So, you're probably correct assuming you looked at all 2500's with the 6 liter. This is from memory though, like i said, not sure.

Im running stock tire size, 245 75 16.

Since you're using HPT, can you tell me what operating system you're running by chance? I have a thread going on on the HPT site about a torque converter issue and i think this OS is complete **** to be honest with you, OR some options are left out in HPT. I dont know. In short, im unable to keep the tcc locked with anything below 5% throttle, but thats another story.

I'm running OS 12212156

And I mean come on, I know its a heavy truck, but its a freakin SIX liter!
I don't know what to say, my buddy also has a 1500HD with stock tires and he has no prob smokin em. Unfortunatly I can't help you to much with the tune, ive had HPT for about 4 months. So i'm still pretty new with it all. I should be getting my wideband next week and then I was hoping to apply the 1Bar MAF OS, to be honest i'm not even sure whats all involved in an OS, but if i don't apply I won't learn. Wish me luck.

Gman4dx266, I've been playing around trying to do the same thing on my nbs 07, 4.8 reg cab.
Have you had any luck trying to figure this out? I've seen your posts on HP Tuners and i have tried most of the suggestions but the damn truck will not spin the tires off the line!
Any ideas?

Thanks for the replies, guys. Unfortunately I havent gotten anywhere on this situation, however I still check this thread and the HPTuners thread daily in hopes of a discovery being made.

DRP06, Like i said I havent found anything on either site that has helped me any.

4.8T, Fluid is alright. Trans feels very heathy in all gears, @ WOT (when moving, mind you), but when nailing it from a dead stop it just takes off...not like a "bad *** peel the eff out" just like a grandma driving a buick Lesabre. lol

By the way, truck throttle body is cable driven, not ETC. So not sure that would even apply, going by what your EFI Live screenshot says "...reducing pedal opening on ETC vehicles..."
Nope, abuse mode is different from BTM. BTM will cut cylinders as well in an attempt to reduce engine torque. I've dug through and I can't find anything in HPT that is the equivalent.

[QUOTE=gman4dx266;3870209]I cannot peel this damn thing out or brake torque it at a stop sign or anything. It will break off nice around a corner or pulling out in traffic with the wheels cut a bit, but thats the extent of it.

A Chevette apparently would lite em up around a corner back in the day, so I heard.

I too have to learn, recently got (HPT) since I don't even know what OS is? Did I remember correctly - Operating System? Agreed: Must apply to learn.

Yes, ditch 4.8. To all, let's get serious. From what I've learned/ remember. On a 02, no DBW true. Apply to your year on DBW>On the 07 it all applies. I think that came out in 03. I have a 04 5.3 & the guy who tuned mine said 3 defeats as applied by GM. Tq mgmt taken out thru PCM, @ TB, & the 3rd hmm??? forgot. At the TB( throttle body) should only apply to 03-up DBW. Traction assist may have been the other. Or was traction assist option a 4th defeat. Again, fuzzy since it's been awhile since my tune. A long while...my tuner swore by his TunerCat. Man, I wish I'd written this stuff down!!! Did it help any ya'll?

As stated, ETC is not a prerequisite for BTM. And even some 01 trucks had DBW/ETC- those with traction control. So the code for BTM could be written into many pre 03 OS's. I have seen the switch to turn BTM off in HPT for some newer trucks but it is not available in the tune/OS posted here.

If you pull up this same calibration in EFILive you have the ability to disable BTM. Maybe HPT just needs to make the switch available in this OS as EFILive does???

put it in neutral, stab the gas pedal, then drop it into drive after about 3 seconds
