Just installed a meth kit on my truck and was trying to tune it in. Made a pull for about 2 seconds and rich backfired. afr was wayyyy to rich. Innovate wideband now reads 7.4. tried to calibrate it an nothing.

 

Never heard of that before but I suppose it's possible. Try asking Innovate.

 

can you do a free air calibration? ive backfired before on cars and never had it ruin a sensor

 

Backfire kills your injectors and intake manifold.

Afterfire kills your exhaust sensors (sometimes).

Just a nitpicky definition I thought I'd mention.

 

I've seen numerous innovate widebands do the 7.4 deal, long story short...... They suck.
