I've got a 2001 long box reg. cab 5.3 A4 that i bought just recently and I knew going into the purchase of the pick up that it had a bad battery drain issue.

I have noticed that the gear indicator/information center and security lights stay on when I turn the ignition off and get out of it.

Anybody have any ideas as to what controls these lights and what could be going on?

I havent messed with it at all and was just seeing if anyone has had this problem in the past.
