Bought HPTuners finally, should be here 4/28 Thursday. Wanted to ask you guys if theres anything i need to know right off! I know its going to take a little learning so.... Made the decision to buy because of a truck that came in with 05 Fans and was wired completely wrong and kept blowing relays, also killed one alt and he had no A/C, because of a bad wiring job!!!!!

I am in La. also. Just bought HPTuners myself. I finally got VCM software installed. Also installed MPVI drivers for USB interface. First run trying to read up ECM file and it starts out ok but fails at around 74% complete. Seems to have some sort of security error. I have 2010 chevy Silverado 5.3. Nothing is ever easy. I have used Jet Spectrum Tuner on my 97 GMC 5.7 and never had any problems. I hope you have better luck.

if you have a 2010 you need to make sure you have the latest beta software. its failing trying to read the tcm.

Yup. E-mail support and provide them with your serial number (located on the cable "box") and request the latest beta version.

To the OP, take your time and learn how to use the VCM scanner first. Practice creating custom gauge displays, logging different PID's and creating custom histograms. Once you mastered this, dig into the VCM editor. All IMHO of course!

The Beta version did the trick. Thanks for the info.
