I agree it is overall a better deal for most people. Mine is on it's way
The people that are getting screwed is the Shops that will need the LS2/LS7 software. That is going to make the cost of getting a LS2/LS7 tuned rediculas! I bet there is a bunch of people that will wait until EFILive or others come out with the LS2 tuning so the prices will drop due to competition.

You are wrong. The way it used to be you could tune any 01 or 02 truck for example with the licenses given standard now you get the 01 truck license and have to pay 200 extra to get the 02 license.

My comment about EFi live was that I hope they change their policy to bring some competition into the market so HPT will stop bending us over jsut cause they can. I really want to get HPT but this pisses me off that they are upping the price. EFi live in its current form sucks if you want to tune more than a couple of vehicles and thats why I was wanting to go with HPT, now Im just confused as to what to do.

Exactly when EFi live starts being competitive maybe the prices will come down to where they should be instead of a grand to be able to tune with a wideband for two year model trucks thats rediculous.

What I'd like to figure out is say I used 4 of my credits for 2-05 trucks and 4 for 2-04's, then I wanted to buy unlimited tuning for 05's. Will it cost me only 2 more credits since I have 4 already invested in the 05's or will I have to buy all 6?

How many credits does it take to be able to tune 1 truck with all the bells and whistles; 2 bar, 3 bar the works? $858?

That is correct Jim. You can also tune 3 additional vin #s with that package. The enhanced interface option (EIO) can be used with any vehicle and the 2/3 bar option is tied to just 1 vehicle. There is many combo's with the credits.
Keep in mind. For those of you who don't like the new pricing schedule then you can still purchase and use the older serial version. All the pricing info can be found here:

And there is a lot of good info going on on ls1tech:

Pro interface=$649...thats all you'd have to pay for what you want...with thos 8 credits that come with your initial purchase you could buy one vin+3 bar and still have 2 credits left over.

to restate what i said...its not $858 for what he wants if hes a new customer...he could get a pro interface that already comes with enough credits for what he wants to do for $649...so for customers like him its far cheaper then the old licensing.

Where on there do you see you can buy the old serial setup with enhanced interface and two licenses for two year models of vehicles?
