I agree it is overall a better deal for most people. Mine is on it's way
The people that are getting screwed is the Shops that will need the LS2/LS7 software. That is going to make the cost of getting a LS2/LS7 tuned rediculas! I bet there is a bunch of people that will wait until EFILive or others come out with the LS2 tuning so the prices will drop due to competition.

My comment about EFi live was that I hope they change their policy to bring some competition into the market so HPT will stop bending us over jsut cause they can. I really want to get HPT but this pisses me off that they are upping the price. EFi live in its current form sucks if you want to tune more than a couple of vehicles and thats why I was wanting to go with HPT, now Im just confused as to what to do.

What I'd like to figure out is say I used 4 of my credits for 2-05 trucks and 4 for 2-04's, then I wanted to buy unlimited tuning for 05's. Will it cost me only 2 more credits since I have 4 already invested in the 05's or will I have to buy all 6?

That is correct Jim. You can also tune 3 additional vin #s with that package. The enhanced interface option (EIO) can be used with any vehicle and the 2/3 bar option is tied to just 1 vehicle. There is many combo's with the credits.
Keep in mind. For those of you who don't like the new pricing schedule then you can still purchase and use the older serial version. All the pricing info can be found here:

And there is a lot of good info going on on ls1tech:
