My whole idea at this point was to see a solid 12.8 commanded and actual at wot. I find it interesting that you have seen less power with leaner mixtures. Do you think that altitude and humidity may play a part in this? I know that my Vette picked up a little power and was quicker when commanded 12.7 in peak tq, yet 13.2 peak hp.
12.8 is good. Well their is always that trade off of what makes the best power, leaner afr and less timing or slightly rich afr 12.5-12.8 and more timing. And yes more fuel in the peak torque range is a good approach. Me personally I always just command 12.7 or so across the board on the power enrichment table and then play with the timing more for instance around peak torque I usually have at least 3 degrees less where peak cylinder pressure is happening and then have my timing higher again up to the shift point where cylinder pressures are starting to bleed off.
Oh yeah altitude, weather, fuel quality, etc.... definately plays a role in it all. Here in Michigan we have fuel which contains 10% ethanol or around there and that changes things as well as compared to pure gasoline which has the stoich value of 14.68 and fuel with 10% ethanol has a stoich value of around 14.1-14.2

We are at about 14 feet above sea level here and like 90% humidity so I like to think of our conditions as thick air preheated and built in vapor injection.lol. Pumps here are claiming the "up to 10% ethanol" so things are starting to change a little.

UPDATE: put stock injectors on injector flowbench -several NFG leaking or partly plugged. Installed overkill 42lb injectors. Now highest duty cycle= 41%. Old highest was=110 yesterday's ride. 42lb injectors are overkill now, but may too small soon......t76 coming

Im looking through redhardsupra's website. Im a little lost on how to tune for these.
I see all his charts and all this work hes put into all these excel files but frankly im at a loss because I'm not sure where to start. It appears to me, in order to do this 100% correctly I need to log ve, which i would need a better part of the day to do. But if the injectors arent right to begin with how can i start to even log ve?
Went from stock injectors to 8.1 marine injectors (42#) and not sure what to do to make it run right. Right now it is running (running fat, but running none-the-less) but I havent changed the tune. Its on stock fuel pressure. Typically i was just wondering what needs to be changed and then i can begin to log ve.
