8.1/Allison 5sp Swap into what?
#11
I ordered a TCCM for my harness. I'm going to plug it in and delete VATS and try to see I can get the engine fired up on the ground. Hopefully it is good runner.
Does anyone know what is required to convert the engine/transmission to a 4x4? I'm either thinking of swapping the rear gear train on the 2wd transmission or simply swapping to another 4x4 transmission. I bought myself the ATSG manual for the Allison and some other book from SA books.
Does anything on the engine tune need to changed to be reflashed to make it 4x4? Or is it just things like power from fuse block powering things like the transfer case and front axle actuator?
I guess I need to start looking at wiring diagrams at charm.li to see what I find.

You have to stand the trans up on end and swap the rear tail housing with shaft to the 4x4 variant. Need to to be straight up and down as I believe there is a spring or lever that can move out of place back there. Its posted on some of the diesel sites

that's sorta what i meant, though. it is comprised of two physically-separate containers that are interconnected via a balance tube, filled from one port, and summed to provide one total fuel reading.
this ain't like a 80s C/K10 that has two independent tanks where the fuel lines and gas gauge run off a toggle switch.
my impression was that the HPT question referred to the 1st situation.
