On the reman ecu's, could I still be able to use a handheld to adjust parameters as needed? Or any other tuned ecu for that matter? Like id like to get one tuned for what I got now (shorter tires and stuff) but id like to be able to still change it down the road with a predator tuner or somethin. I've got a predator for my ls1, and I like it.

Im thinkin about swapping the ecu and seeing what happens. Im gonna see if the local salvage has one, if not I found one on ebay for 69 bucks. Is there any year range to look for, for a 99? Or certain model numbers to look for?

have you ruled out a knock sensor??? mine went bad on my truck and it pulled timing and fuel...didnt run rough but was really weak..maybe being a older model truck might make it react differently...ive herd that the trucks are notorious for it. usually the rear one

Yes, un hook the ecu and flip it over. There should be a service tag with a number on it. Will say something like service number and hardware number. The one you want should be 09354896 for 99-00 models and it needs to have a similar calibration in it from an 8 cyl. Make sure that is the same number on your ecu.
