Default Is a 5.3 and 6.0 maf the same?

Just like the title says. I had 5.3 1/2 ton pickup. Switched to a 2500 hd with the 6.0. Well i swapped my cold air intake over to the new truck and maf that already had the screen out. They both had the same part # sooooooo just wondering are they the same. My truck seems to be getting worse gas milage than it should. thanks

they are the same but you should have left the screen alone. or kept the one with it.

if they both have the same part number stickers, then they should be the same. just call your local stealership parts counter & have them run the VINs to be sure

Get a MAF with a screen in it unless you have a tuner who's ready to do some extensive tuning to the MAF or you switch to a speed density (maf-less) tune. The screen straightens out the air so that the MAF can get more accurate readings. I know that other models and later models have screen-less MAF's, but the factory made them that way so they obviously don't need the screen that the other MAF's need.
