right now after idling for a few minutes you can touch the manifold right where it comes off the head. some ports are hot as hell a couple are just warm to the touch.

here is a question. if i pull the plugs on the cold ports, what would they look like if no fuel but good spark good fuel no spark?
An actual scan tool, not a code reader.

Snap-On, tech 2, Modis and others.

Sounds like you have some dead cylinders.

If you move the injectors around, does the cold manifold follow the injectors?

this will easily be diagnosed by doing a Cylinder Injector Balance test. I used a Snap On scan tool. Any mechaical garage shoudl have 1 that will work.

Here is some good info about the marine and truck 4.3. Cool power and torque differences. it illustrates just how a good exhaust makes all teh difference.

Thats interesting. I have always heard they had different cams and thats was the reason for the change in power. So if I free up my exhaust, I may see gains of 15-20hp.

I have a great side by side pic Ill post in just a second. Justin said he'll squeeze me in when he is in town in Feb. I was hoping we could get one log before he is here, that way he can do some finalizing on the tune while he is here, instead of just starting it.
