I'm trying to get my new build tuned Procharged 408 ls1 with 160lb injectors can the stock ECM be tuned to work well with this.. Or do I need a Holley Terminator X Max?

Yes, it could.

But just remember that it's a stock computer and there will be limitations that go with it. The engine size and injector size is not a problem, the computer can handle both.

What limits you is the airflow model and timing table functions. The 2 bar and 3 bar OS on a P59 has far less resolution on the VE table than a P01 computer from 1999-2002 because of the drive by wire and other systems used on the P59's. You will also max out the timing table at 1.2 cylinder airmass in a heartbeat with enough power so the last line in the timing table will be all you got even if your cylinder airmass starts to hit 1.40 or 1.50g. You can scale the tune to give you some of that back but that is another step to take.

A standalone system like the Dominator or Terminator will do 5x as many things as the stock computer. You can program in everything you want and then some. It will have fail safes, it can shut the engine down if something goes wrong, it can tune it self for the most part.

Yep basically let the PCM run the gauges and Efans. Use the holley to do all the important stuff.
I try to talk everyone into the holleys for the simple fact that the self corrects the fuel. SO say we get done tuning the stock PCM and the fuel filter slowly gets clogged and the fuel pump gets weak the PCM doesnt know. Keep running it and boom.. Piston Delete.

Holley can atleast help keep the AFR under control and if you keep an eye on the datalogs and the Learn Table for Fuel you can catch it before you have a magic trick happen under the hood.

The 03 ECM (P59) can run flex fuel, 3 bar, and 80E segments. It can support 1000rwhp without issue.

The Holley is a far superior race system, but lacks the diagnostics that the OEM GM computers have.
