'02 S10 Tuning
I've got a buddy who wants me to tune his S10, but I've not much experience tuning non-V8's let alone a S10. I did download a stock tune file and can see that there's definitely room for improvement in the usual areas, but what kind of timing to these motors see at WOT? I've heard they have really sensitive knock sensors and pretty much have KR from the factory. Btw, it's a 4.3L automatic. I've got a feeling that I can shave off some good time from his stock 1/4 since he's got intake/exhaust already. Anyways, any suggestions or horror stories are welcome lol.
Thanks,
Jake

If it is like most trucks theres probably a huge PE delay so setting your PE delays to 0 & using the TPS table would probably be wise. Im sure theres probably a good amount of TM you could get ride of without any detrimental affects.

yeah that's pretty much what I noticed in the stock tune from the repository. The PE delay is freakin 0.0195 haha. Just fixing that in my stock truck took off a good 3/10 since I would actually hit PE off the line, not late second gear. As usual there's a ton of TM, but I probably won't remove all of it due to the mileage.

Your referring to the enrichment rate which are two different things.

Ah I gotcha. I do like how this motor has RTT available. It'll be my first to tune with RTT so we'll see how it goes. Hopefully soon yall will have RTT available for my truck
