Default 00 Z71 4.8 internal pecking sound?

This may sound like a stupid question but i have recently purchased a 00 Z71 4.8 truck and i have an internal pecking sound. I have had it to a couple of different dealers and they tell me its normal should i be worried or just drive the wheels off it?

Yeah real common..... I work at gm and have seen it alot especially in 5.3 and 4.8... its usually a leaky oil pump o ring causing the pump to cavitate

also seen a few bad valve locks and retainers... even a few bad springs cause a ticking.... quite a few collapsed lifters also

mostly oil pump though
