Actually I have scored a few things on the barter with a bum system including a Buck 110 traded to me for a half pack of camels and $5.

I think every body feels like that. One time me an a few peeps was leaving a bar, a bum was sitting out side. So he asked my buddy for some money, my bud was like damn man I was getting ready to ask you(to the bum) the same thing. Damn if the bum didn't give my buddy a fuggin buck. I couldn't believe my eyes. Whats up with that....

I work in the const industry installing natural gas mains and we have to work in downtown mobile sometimes. In the bad part if ya know what I mean. They always single me out down there. After this thread I'm gonna have to use some of these especially the shoes. Some of the ones that come up to me have better clothes than I could even think about buying. I just tell them no or come to my office and fill out an application and that usually sends them off.

About a year ago I ran into this one guy about 5 times in a 2 month period at the same gas station who always seemed to run out of gas about 2 miles down the road who needed money for gas to get to the gas station. Yeah Right! Anyways I've seen the same people time and time again with the same story. i never give them money. Check it out ___>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmDSJ8eiQXk

I was walking through town and a guy with an ipod asked me for some change...I told him I'd buy the ipod off him if he could provide me with the receipt..but he didn't have one. Go figure.

Another way is to offer to buy them a cup of coffee...9/10 times they'll turn ya down. The one that takes the coffee usually gets a meal from the place. I don't stick around to eat with them but I'll just order him basic grub, pay and leave.
