Why am I having such a hard time finding an inch pounds torque wrench

I'm looking for a 3/8" drive click type torque wrench (dont want the beam, that will be a pain in the ass trying to read that thing at all sorts of weird angles in the engine bay). I need the wrench to read down to at least 40 inch pounds. A lot of the ones I see on ebay go from 120 to 960, which is no good to me. I'm also looking for something reasonably priced, around $30. If anyone has any links/leads please let me know.

I don't think I have ever used a inch lb wrench. I always go by judgment, so far so good...

ft-lb = in-lb / 12
in-lb = ft-lb x 12

The TB and intake manifold all have specific torque specs. I want this done right; I imagine if the bolts are torqued identically there will be an imbalance and the intake can leak. I'd also probably end up overtorquing the bolts.

just realized it reads 120 to 960 sorry about that, i'll check mine and see what it reads

Hey Skeet,

I saw that link on ebay already....it goes from 120 to 960. Torque spec on the intake manifold calls for 44 inch pounds first pass and 89 inch pounds second pass. What the specs on the snap ons?

gimme few, gonna go check now!

my bad, its 1/4" drive, i dont think snap on makes a 3/8s tw that will start at 40 "lbs, but mine does start at 40 " lbs, how soon do you need it? reason i ask i am gonna need it this weekend, i dont mind letting you borrow it for the cost of shipping, my other tw is 3/8s and starts at 120
