Use 5/16 wooden dial rods you can purchase from Home Depot or any hardware store. The camshaft is 19 inches long so cut them off at 24inches and lightly sand them just a little with fine sandpaper. Then clean them up with clean engine oil and they will work perfectly. I just done one on my Gen 3 LM7 and worked perfectly.
