What's your take on 2012?

Hilarious^^^
I just got back from Cancun, and learned a shitload about the Mayan's, the people who's calender this comes from.
We had a tour guide take us through Chichen Itza, the most famous Mayan ruins. He himself was a mayan descendant, with grandmothers of both sides being Mayans. He had a huge amount of info to share, knew how to read all the carvings and everything, way better than just seein a bunch of ruins.
We had a 3 hr bus ride with this old man on the way there, and I enjoyed every minute of it.
Basically his explanation of it was that its the end of a cycle, an important event nonetheless, but NOT the end of the world. Has nothing to do with the end of the world. He named two movies, "apocalypto" and "2012" and said they were Hollywood garbage.
Take the time to do some research and read up on some of this stuff, its super interesting. I wish I could explain it more but it was a lot of info to take in, I dont remember all of it. Basically the fact that the Mayan calender ends on 2012 has nothing to do with the world ending. I still cant believe History Channel wasted a full hour on this subject. Just go to one of these places and learn the real truth.
