What are your plans for the truck? The only reason the lightning is fast is cause it comes supercharged already!! There are guys with reg cab 1500 chevys with 5.3's running that with a few bolt ons!!! Imagine a charged 5.3 chevy reg cab!! No offense to you ford boys out there

Gonna agree, who likes stock? i hate stock, my truck was stock for like a minute after i got it, then i started ordering and modding. best bet, buy a chevy, build it, gives you something to do and you learn more about your truck rather than just being a fast stock truck

The Std Cab 5.3 Chevy's are the cheapest to mod with the MOST aftermarket and the ability to tune. The later is most important.

Thats the key right there. You have to really know how to drive the SRT-10. The 5 ive ran into had drivers that apparently couldnt drive. I have yet to lose to one, including two at the track. I took a sponsored modified one out with my Lightning at the track with my 13.6 to his 13.7. I have just an intake on an 03' L.

I think it also comes down to what you desire. For a daily driven comfortable well handling truck with an automatic that can unleash hell when needed, then the L is for you. If you are looking for a weekend truck thats torquey as all hell and just mean sounding and looking, but really rough in daily traffic with the 6-speed, then the SRT10 is your pick.
IMO of course.

We don't get offended!! We know you Chevy guys are just jealous that you didn't think of it first!! And if you keep it mod for mod, your gonna be hard pressed to keep up with a Lightning!! Remeber, our S/C's are not a "mod", it's factory equipment!!! So if you go H/C/I, and we do the same, we still come out ahead.
