I had a Griffin on my 3GS and I liked it. Plenty tough, and make it easier for my clumsy *** hands to handle. My brother has an Otter Box on his 4, dropped it about 6 feet, and that thing is toast. Phone still works but the glass is all spider webbed.

 

Just checked out the otter box commuter, it is alot smaller then the standard but still a brick.. I mean dropping the i4 even in a case at a good fall will still prob shatter the glass considering it is glass on the back and front..

 

IDK about that John, Tonya has dropped hers hard enough to crack & break off a plastic corner of the Otterbox..... Zero damage to the phone.
