You going to get rid of the SS for a canyon?

I like the extra power you can make with them but, I do not like the extra noise they make.......guess I'm getting old.

Yep, you know the noises I speak of.

Yes, SS will be gone in favor of a V8 ECSB 4wd Z71 Canyon. Then I will probably find a used work van to use specifically for work. It's nice driving the SS all the time but, it's not really the best vehicle for a work truck, since it has a 6' bed you can't really put anything in it unless you cover it up and it all gets to be a PITA eventually. So, I'd like to get a personal and work vehicle that both do the jobs they were intended for better.

I don't think the manifold base will work on the heads, it's a Gen IV engine.

I bet a radix with the right base would fit though.

I know the owner of the dealership and he hooks me up.

No way in hell I'd pay sticker though for any vehicle even if I didn't have a hookup. That is just THEIR starting price for negotiations. Most places will do invoice plus $100 or so, minus rebates. I don't think this is any sort of special addition anyway, gonna be mass produced.

Even with it being a GEN IV its a 5.3 so I would assume it would still have a cathedral port head. The L92 heads that they are putting on all the larger bore motors wont work on the 5.3. I think the new 5.3s are going to have that 799 head or whatever it is(LS6/243 style). I know the main change on the GEN IV motors it the 4x reluctor cam and 54x reluctor crank with obviously the cam sensor and knock sensors moved. I have heard there is going to be a small bore L92 style head but I dont believe that is out yet. Unless you have heard something to the contrary. Just thinking out loud here.

Since you dont like headers, maybe some C5 vette manifolds may be a worthwhile swap since they can be had for ~100 bucks and net a decent increase in flow while keeping everything quiet. The C6 Z06 manifolds may be a choice too but I think those are D port exhaust ports...
