here is the prelim estimate for the damage...

"dropped an oil ring, oil spray from the case ignited and melted piston, alum through-out engine including both turbo's all bearing surfaces, etc. approx $ 60,000 to $ 80,000 rebuild if the crank and cam are good, crank is $ 25,000, cam is about $ 10,000"


****...makes my little lifter failure seem very very minor.
