Wow, that's a lot you're paying for a 46". You can get a Vizio 47" 1080p at Costco for $1000. Vizio is an solid brand with excellent quality.

Sort of. 1080i actually has the same about of pixels but has half the frame rate of 1080p. That's why 1080i is better for slower action like news rather than lets say a football game.

You are right though, they're basically the same. I think 720p has like 55 million pixels and 1080i has like 62 million.

The LED LCD is what I paid for. New technology if your not familiar. Very thin and light weight and better picture overall.

Ah, missed that. Didn't know they were out yet.

I know about thin and lightweight, but that makes no difference (to me at least) in a TV. Regular LCD is thin enough for me. But talk to me about this 'better picture overall.' I hadn't heard anything about the qualitative difference in picture quality between LCD and LED LCD.

i dont think there is a huge diff besides the pic being brighter... the screens images come from a LCD still the light comes from the LED's. i guess a brighter picture would qualify as a better picture.

The reviews I read are more bold colors and blacker blacks like plasma, brighter than LCD, and uses half the power as LCD. Only 1.2" thick and that is in the center. On the edges is as thin as the front glass and tapers back to the 1.2".
I would have been fine with the std. I just got sucked into it at the store and was tired of looking and said f-it, ill take that one LOL.
