Tankless water heaters
#2
I helped my sister install one in her house and she absolutely loved it... She decided to install it when her regular electric hot water heater died... It never ran out of hot water like the old one did... The only really big deal was running the 220 line to the new tankless heater... When and if mine dies that is what I plan on replacing it with..

It used to be that gas was cheaper but now adays it really is about the same cost to run them. There is going to be a big price differenct between the two because with the electric all you need is 220. With the gas you need enough gas pressure and the expensive flue piping along with electric. Both work the same.

Bumping an old thread. Im looking into getting one. My hot water heater is in the garage and takes up valuable realestate that I could use for other stuff. Im going to be wiring up a bunch of stuff and would be a good time to install one.
For those that have them, how do you like them? Im going to go electric because I dont want to deal with plumbing the damn gas over to it. What size should I get and brand?
Im going to do some more research on it tomorrow but figured Id ask here too.

I bought a Bosch,
I like it just fine. It takes a little bit for hot water to get to the furthest showers but nothing I can't deal with. What I do like it I can have the dishwasher, laundry and both showers going and will never run out of hot water or won't get cold spikes when someone turns on another sink with hot water. If you get an electric one just remember if you have a power outage you will not have any hot water. You might think no big deal, how often do we have a power outage. It will happen and it will happen at the worst possible time. Before work, church, a hot date and you can't shower.
Hope this helps

A wall mounted water heater sounds great, but what if there's a hurricane. I loose my option for contained water if there's any needed. I'm on a well/pump system. No electricity, no pump, no water. Now we have a generator we don't have to worry about that.
