Default Talk the Dealer Down

Okay, so here's what we have. My sister wrecked her van and we are waiting word from the insurance company to see if they are going to total it or not. She owes like 10k on it I believe.

Won't know what they want to do until Wednesday so we've been looking for a replacement just in case.
We found 3 2005 Nissan Altima 2.5 S's for sale.

The first one is in McKinney Texas. Has 55K miles on it. Is worth 12,815 and they are asking 9,991 for it.

2nd is in Dell city, ok. Has 51,683 miles on it. Is worth 11,880 and they are asking 9,995 for it.

3rd is in Kingfisher which is like 9 miles from home. Has 65k miles, Worth 11,680 and they are asking 10,900 for it.

If they total it we would like to support the local dealer but when I mention the price he is really hesitant to work with me what so ever. He just keeps saying "well our cars are really nice" and what not. It has some scraps and chips in the front driverside bumper and a dent just below the drivers window.
They want 1k more than the other guys who have over 10k less miles and are worth a lot more.

I plan to go to take a look at the one in dell city and get pics and use those against the local dealer when he tries to say their cars are better kept.

What you think?

just an idea, maybe let him know the deals you can get in the surrounding areas. And if he wants your business then he should work with you on the price.. But what do i know.

I already told him that the others want 1k less than what he wants and his is worth less than theirs and has more miles.
I may just need to switch salesman, cuz I know the other one will try.

You should totally tell your sister to use the insurance money on a down payment on a 2010 Camaro SS

Dobrinski's. We wanted Brian but dad had already talked to Gambrell. Since I got my truck there I get $50 for getting her to buy there.

I have used 3 nissan dealerships, go with the cheapest one willing to deal! I have only one dealership localy that will price match out of 3.

You will find for warranty work its the same deal... High price ones don't fix anything...

I never had a problem getting warranty work done on my truck when I got it used at the same place.
I think the problem is the salesman doesn't want to even try to bring the price down.

I plan to go back when I get word from the Insurance company but Want the have everything in order when I do.

I can name several reasons that's a bad idea. but to be nice we'll stick with it's too expensive, and she has a kid that turns 2 in August
