TIG welding is cool. you can make some "pretty" welds with it. just wear them long sleeves. you can "sunburn" the arms in short order.

You'll have a blast. Pretty neat stuff when you get it going good. I still need tons of practice to make "pretty" beads, but I can lay 'em down.

That's with any type of welding. TIG is easy once you get the hang of it. Welding aluminum VS. Steel is completely different

Thumbs up

TIG is my favorite type of welding, but I kinda suck at it. I mean I get paid to do it, but I'm about the worst TIG welder in our shop. I'm pretty good at MIG welding. And I've been known to burn an electrode, too. It seems as though, there are very few welders who can stick weld, these days.
Where I work, we do very little mild steel welding. It's about 88% SS, 10% Aluminum and 2% mild steel, so an ability to TIG (even as poor as mine) is a must.
Have fun with it. And take your time. Most folks need plenty of practice.

TIG welding is the nicest , cleanest welding work . I'm a cert. stick welder but need to brush up tig skills. A good machine though can make life a lot easier. At our union hall we use Miller.
